چکیده

Full face ablative resurfacing and fractional ablative resurfacing techniques are treatments of choice for facial rejuvenation of aged and photoaged skin. Both techniques were shown to be highly effective for dyschromia, fine lines and wrinkles [1-3]. Although better results are obtained with full resurfacing procedures, it comes with more downtime and more serious risks, when compared to fractional resurfacing techniques[3]. Because of the higher risk, fractional resurfacing techniques have essentially replaced full resurfacing techniques today for facial rejuvenation. Albeit, fractional resurfacing is not without risk, and scarring and infections, although rare, have been reported [4].

In recent decades, there has been a revolution in energy-based treatment options for skin scarring, rejuvenation, and tightening. One of the most promising developments has been the introduction of fractional photothermolysis, developed by Anderson and Manstein in 2004. Fractionated systems deliver laser energy in a grid-like pattern, creating microscopic columns of ablative and/or coagulative ...

Safety of a picosecond laser with diffractive lens array (DLA) in the treatment of Fitzpatrick skin types IV to VI: A retrospective review.

BACKGROUND Laser therapy in patients with skin of color is associated with an increased rate of complications. The 755-nm picosecond laser with the diffractive lens array (DLA) has been used for the treatment of scars, striae, and rejuvenation. By delivering high energy to focused areas, the DLA minimizes complications. OBJECTIVE This study explores the adverse events associated with treatmen...

Efficacy of platelet rich plasma (PRP) on skin rejuvenation: A systematic review

Background: With the increase in life expectancy, middle aged and elderly people comprise a substantial percentage of the population worldwide. Since aging often manifests itself in the human skin, skin rejuvenation methods have gained a lot of popularity. Current medical modalities such as botulinum toxininjection, fillers, and laser therapy can provide symptomatic relief of skin aging s...

In vivo multiphoton‐microscopy of picosecond‐laser‐induced optical breakdown in human skin

IMPORTANCE Improvements in skin appearance resulting from treatment with fractionated picosecond-lasers have been noted, but optimizing the treatment efficacy depends on a thorough understanding of the specific skin response. The development of non-invasive laser imaging techniques in conjunction with laser therapy can potentially provide feedback for guidance and optimizing clinical outcome. ...
